DMM served as Beloved Community’s strategic partner for the NOLA Public Schools Equity Audit to conduct 13 focus groups across eight primary stakeholder groups: Board Members, CEOs, NOLA Leaders On-Site, internal staff, teachers, parents, students, and community and retired teachers. The focus group questions asked stakeholders to reflect on their roles, experiences, and perceptions of NOLA PS and Orleans Parish Public Schools. Questions also pertained to diversity, equity, and inclusion, structural changes or transitions, and the impact of COVID-19. For this report, we identify prominent themes that echo both strengths and potential areas for improvement, as well as recommendations explicitly shared by stakeholders.
